Birthday Baby!

She's four now, but she still wants to be a baby. She has even told me that she wants to be a baby forever. Some might enjoy this-I'm not really into it. I totally understand the sentimentality issue, and yes, it does go by fast, but I'm kind of over babies now. Having to carry a 4 year old who wants to be a baby still is just a pain in the ass. Sorry Maggie, your baby days are numbered.  When she does act like a four year old, she's a very cute, hilarious, kind of strange (in a good way!) little kid.  Her birthday was last month and she milked us for all we're good for. Unfortunately for her-I'm really not into entertaining in August. It's so hot. She did have a fun birthday week though.  She had a little party at school.
I even managed to throw together a last minute shin dig for her with a couple friends and a piƱata.

Pink Panther cake! Allison and Pablo get credit for this cake. The girls got way into Pink Panther after we visited and they watched it with Gael and Remi.

These two are always up to something!

She even had another mini party play date with the Jordan's during the following week, so don't feel too bad for her and her negligent mother.

Next up, haircuts! This has been a constant struggle with Maggie. I think she's a shoe in for the 2029 Davis-Estabrook Yuma School of Beauty Scholarship.  I made a deal with her that she would stop doing it herself if I would take her in to get it cut shorter. She agreed.
The last Hurrah with her long hair.
So, has she given up her hair-cutting habit?! Nope! She's done it again at least one more time that I'm aware of.
Molly couldn't be left out, she wanted her hair cut too.
Little troublemaker practicing her "A's".

We finally had a loose tooth! A couple weeks ago the adult tooth popped out. It was loose at the time, but she was so anxious about, she would not mess/play with it at all. Jonny and I probably made the most progress on it overall through trickery. "I swear, I'm just going to look at it"-wow, I wonder where she picked up that lying habit?
Finally she yanked out herself when it was just hanging there by nothing.
I learned the next day that she had actually lost it on National Tooth Fairy Day. A completely useless and ridiculous day, unless your kid looses their tooth on it.
All through August they took swim lessons.  Maggie has been such a little stud this summer! She actually passed 2 levels in one session. So awesome considering that at the beginning of the summer she was still clinging to my hip in the water like a baby. Super proud of her!
Molly did a great job too this summer. She's a pretty reliable swimmer now and can pretty much go wherever she wants to in the pool.  Seriously though. What is with her being so photogenic? How does she have the instinct to give an opened mouthed smile underwater? Such a little ham.
I made them an awesome fort in the living room the other day. They were super excited that it had lighting and everything!
Super Excited!
Went to Jump-Up the other weekend. Check out the little monkey!

First Day of School!

It seems ridiculously early, but Molly just finished her first week of school. I'm pretty bummed since we're going to be missing out on going to CO because of school, but hopefully next year we can go in June or July.
Yay for our little 1st grader! So far so good! She likes her teacher and seems to be settling in. Drop off and especially pick up are crazy town, so I'm having to get used to that. Maybe it will get better? I hope?
Maggie also had her first week as a Respectful Rabbit.  Just ask her, she'll tell you all about it.  I love hearing her say "respectful rabbit"- think Elmer Fudd.
First Day as a Gator!
First day as a "wespectful wabbit"
Ready for fun!
Little lefty showing off her ambidextrous skills.
We had some bandits raiding our house. We've now taken care of the problem.
Molly giving me her "evil" look while dressed in her "evil" clothes. Future goth girl?
Today we went to Kate's back to school party at the water park! The girls had a ton of fun going down as many slides as possible and showing off their mermaid swimming in the lazy river. I was even a good sport and went down 4 slides even though I'm a baby and they freak me out.
Maggie getting crazy with soda.
Maggie is almost 4! Only a few more weeks left as a crazy little 3 year old!  What are we going to do?!?!

Summer vacation 2015

Our summer trip is almost over, (we'll be home Sunday), so I thought I should post some pictures before there are so many I don't want to deal with it.
Before we left for Flagstaff, the girls took swim lessons. They both did really well! Molly is a fairly reliable swimmer now and loves to jump off the diving board.  Maggie really impressed me this year though. Her teacher said she's passed preschool level and is ready for level one.  That means she could already be in the 6 year old class if she wasn't too young. Way to go girls!
Enjoying an ice cream after graduating to duck level.
Molly on her last day of class. So glamorous in her "high heels".

They created a club after loosing all TV/tablet privileges and some toys for a week. I wasn't invited. At least I'm still smiling!

They had slumber party in their "clubhouse"- back room off the kitchen. Maggie has a hard time with boundaries when she's sleeping.

We got to Flagstaff on Saturday and have really been enjoying the nice weather. The first few days were rainy and awesome. There's a lake about a mile from Granny's house that we walked to.
Future Gator at the lake!

Found a little bench of questionable integrity. They didn't seem to mind.
Granny has a bird! The girls love Jewel even when she gets a little nibblely.
No pooping! No pooping!
Little fuss budget hanging out on the Praire.
Half naked and cheered up.
She kept saying "nobody better see me naked!".
We lost a day to intestinal distress. Poor thing.
Back in business, they found a new clubhouse in the aspen trees.

We all had to attend club meetings that appeared to follow the 6 year old equivalent of Parliamentary procedure. We voted several times.
We took a little hike around Laws Springs. Lots of petroglyphs. Pretty cool!

Getting the eggs from granny's chickens!
Today, Molly and Grannny went for a trail ride.  Molly's first! I kind of wish I had gone looks like she had a fun time!

Granny said she was a natural.
Guess we need a horse!  Not! Hahaha.
